I bought a Q*Bert from an operator that had been converted it to an Arkanoid.

There was nothing left of the orginal game. I was able to track down everything power supply, PCB's, marquee, wiring (well half, i made the other half), everything to retore it, thanks to KLOV members in the forsale section.

I finally got it up and running, waiting for parts and getting it running took me about 3 months.

Big Thank you to Tron Guy, Riptor, and Komodo

Thanks for helping me getting it going guys, Once i get the cabinet repainted etc... i'll post more pictures.

Here is a short video of me playing it very badly, ha!

I am almost afraid to ask how much of all these parts ended up costing you as a working game now. Did you tally them up? Pics?

Pictures!! I saw the video of your game room... Is it finished or your not done with it yet??

Parts ended up costing around $325.00 I'll take some pictures of the inside of the game and post them. It looks pretty cool inside all restored.

The cabinet is still rough i need to paint it and apply the new side art and cpo. Once that is done i'll post some pictures.

Thanks for asking about my new game room renovation, it's coming along. We finished all the wiring and framing just waiting for the Drywall now. I hope to order the Blacklite carpet today as the carpet guy came to the house to measure everything this morning. I'll keep the Reno thread updated as it comes along.

Thanks,

Nice. I having a Arcade/workshop under construction so I find arcade rooms cool..
I'm just going with the brick walls and painting them. I hope I can post up my game room soon.
Anyways keep up the good work! and make sure to show us the progress of your arcade!
Look forward to seeing it!

when I restored the mania challenge conversion (which I paid $25 for the cab),
I ended up spending around $750-$800.

The game is cherry though. Virtually mint. Full cabinet restore, all new art, very very good marquee. Boards repaired by riptor and takeman.

Tron Guy did you end up selling your Qbert?

I did the same thing when I got my first qbert. I was told there was a pacman cab for sale sitting on a guys porch so I went and checked it out. Turned out it was a qbert that had been gutted, jammatized and was in poor condition. I slowly aquired all the parts and fully restored the machine back to like new condition. I spent about the same... a little less than it would have cost to buy one is similar coniditon.
I knew nothing about qbert and its hardware at that time and it sure was a learning experience. After searching high and low for a power supply rebuild kit I finally gave up and put a kit together. Since then I have ressurected a few qberts and sold them but I will never get rid of my first one.
