Does anyone own a Q Bert cocktail table?

I just bought one, and I'm looking for a switch that powers the table.

Right now, I have the coin drop door opened and there is a box with a button that has to be pressed in for the table to power up. If you release that button, the power immediately powers off.

I have seen such devices on upright machines that are located behind the cabinet door, so that when the door to the back of the cabinet is closed, it pushes this button in so that the machone will power on.

Well, this box in my cocktail table is located too far away from the coin drop door for the door to be able to do this.

Does anyone know if this particular cocktail table model has a permanent power switch, or am I going to have to use some tape to hold this button in?

yes as mentioned pull the interlock switch outward. The switch should lock into the on position. I know the upright qbert has switches that lock in place so I imagine the cocktail does as well.

Okay, yes, pulling out that switch seemed to have done the trick. However, now the kicker DOES NOT work - it WAS working when I was holding the switch in in order to power the table, but now it does not even though dip switch 6 is turned to on. All I messed around with was this power button - is the kicker power cord anywhere near this thing and I've pulled it out while I was doing it? I find it hard to believe that I've somehow broken the kicker already!

Just bend the bracket for that interlock switch and leave it pulled out.
Do you have sound? If no sound and no knocker then you lost your 30v on the power supply. If sound but no knocker most likely problem is blown knocker fuse(next to knocker but not sure on cocktails), cracked solder joint on filter board or a bad transistor on the main pcb. You said you already checked the dip for the knocker right?
Make sure the knocker operated freely and is not hung up or binding.

Post a picture of your power supply board, I think cocktails used the updated PS which actually outputs 18v instead of the 30v.

Thanks, I'll get you a picture of the board. I just find it funny that the knocker worked for 5 minutes while I was pushing in the switch to power the board, but when I pulled the switch out, it hasn't worked!

Like I said, if you have sound then you know the 30v(or 18v) is present. In that case I would start by checking the knocker fuse and then solder joints on the back of the filter board.

Yeah, you are probably right, because I have all sounds except the knocker. I find it funny that the knocker worked for 5 minutes, and then I broke it! This thing was probably made in 83, and probably worked up until 5 minutes after I got it in my house!
