Putting Pac Man Plus Color Proms in a Mike Doyle 96-1

Let me just preface this by saying I know next to nothing about working on Arcade PCBs, but am slowly learning.

Those of you who have a Mike Doyle 96-1 board know that Pacman plus has the wrong colors for the maze.

However, would installing the Pacman Plus Color Proms fix this? PM + 7F, PM +4F (I have no idea what that means)

Or, would this create more problems than it solves?

*BUMP* Anybody know how to get the proper colors on a Mike Doyle 96-1?

Thats a problem with the multikits and multi boards.

They are not going to be 100% like the original.

But they sure save a ton of money over owning all the boards

Unless it replaces the color proms like the one that HighScoreSaves.com sells.

Yeah you have to take the good with the bad on the multi kits...most of the games play close enough to not make much of a difference unless its a game your really into and you notice everything...

Thanks for the insight guys, I guess I'll stand down on this.

Yup, all roads keep pointing in the direction buying that one and swapping out the 96-1 for it.

I just wish it had Doyle's nifty screen/burn-in protector. I asked Joe if he was going to add one and he said he didn't think it was necessary with home-use machines. He's probably right, I just like the added protection in case I forget to turn it off one weekend. There are, however, more goodies on that board that out weigh the lack of screen saver.

I wonder what the market is used early version of the 96-1 (v.2.0)?
