I have noticed lately when trying to replace incandescent bulbs with LEDs that sometimes the LEDs will stay lit, and not turn off. Is there a compatibility issue with some types of 555 LEDs and WPC machines?

I put led's in the head of Bride of Pinbot. They definitely act weird during attract mode, but the weird is hidden under the faces. It's like they are always lit just a little bit, and they flicker in time with other lights it seems. Just the eyes though, the mouth is fine.

yes there's an issue with the software of some WPC games.
on rgp someone posted about a month ago a patch you could apply to the rom (and then burn it yourself again) that fixed the ghosting in a lot of wpc games..

Anyone have the details on this patch?

Old thread, looks like the question never got answered!
I found the patcher, but being ROM burner less, has anyone done that patch and feel like describing the process?
Are these modified ROM's available from anyone?

Meh, I bought cointaker mini LED's already at the Allentown show.

Addams ghosts some, but I have an old game rom version. L-5, need to get H-4 from what I see, but I do not want to go to the Gold version.

I'm using the new Cointaker premiums, both the flex and the "premium"...both are non-ghosting/flickering now. They work really well in my STTNG. Looks fantastic. I went full-out LED kit.

I have a BS Dracula, which I have the patched ROM in and regular mini Cointaker LEDs. Before I patched the ROM, there was a lot of ghosting and I was ready to take out the LEDs. Since I patched the ROM, it looks good and I see no need for the special LEDs (and cost).

I may not be as picky as some people are with LEDs. I like them (have them in 5 of the 7 machines that I own), where as there are a lot out here that do not. I also prefer Cointaker LEDs to all the rest . Hope this helps.
