Put a 2575 k7000 chassis on a 2574 tube, collapse now... what did I blow /

So I had a perfectly working 2575 chassis, I put it on a 2574 tube and now I have a vertical collapse.... what did I blow?

Let's get things straightened out first with model numbers.

2575 is a K7500 medium res monitor.

2574 is a K7400 standard res monitor

Neither are K7000.

From what I can recall, there should have been a warning label on the monitor frame to use only a 7400 chassis on a 7400 monitor.

Sorry I am extra tired ken. Trying to get games going that have to go out this week. Basically I had a k7000 25" monitor, it did not work in a MANX Tt (I thought it was a standard res game) so I grabbed a 2575 WG. It worked fine. Looked good. I tried Bolting up the monitor and it didn't fit properly. (I forgot the metal bezels that make it fit properly) so I go to grab the tube that's next to it (mind you it's getting dark and I'm getting pissed) I took the chassis off the 2575 and put it on the 2574 tube which wasn't the one that was pulled from the game. So with it being dark in my buddies garage I did this all by mistake. Bad day. Most of my games are in my shop and this wouldn't have happened. I was fighting daylight and just rushing

My understanding was that the 2575 and 2574 use the same tube and only the yolks are different. My understanding was you can swap a 2574 chassis on a 2575 tube and vice versa as long as you swap out the yolks. However, I have a 2575 tube and I installed a k7000 yolk and chassis and it work but for some odd reason I was getting purity issues and very weak colors. Not sure what the deal is on this ?

I think you've made a mistake that isn't well documented. A K7500 chassis on a K7400 yoke/tube.

You could have all sorts of problems on both the chassis and the yoke.

I guess I would start with using them both on known good counter parts and see what the problems are.

Good luck.

You might have cooked the yoke Possibly damaged the vertical output IC itself or components near the vertical output IC.
