Punchout Serial Tags

Almost done

Just need to stamp in the serial number. I made a few of them, and some other people wanted some too. It looks better than the photos below:

Absolutely amazing. If only every project could be turned around this quick, and I didn't even have to beg!

If anyone else wants a Punch Out tag let me know. Also here is the final image I used to make the tags:

It is in GIMP xcf format, you will need GIMP to print it, good thing it is open source and free! :D

Also if anyone needs a tag for any other Nintendo cabinet have someone send me a clean as possible scan at 600 dpi or higher. The higher the dpi the better the final result. I can use this Punch Out tag as a template for any other cabinet, but some Nintendo cabinets the tag layout is different, and some "Nintendo of America" instead of "Nintendo Co., Ltd."

Heres a scan of mine.

According to this scan when I measure the holes they are .15 inches which is about 5/32 Phet is that what yours is too?

looks like 1/8 would be fine too. 5/32 would work though, it's only a 32nd of an inch difference.

I already did some of them 5/32 I will do the rest 1/8. The thinner gauge aluminum is too thin to stamp the numbers. Also, it looks like shit if you stamp through the clear coat and label, so I have to cut out the box on the label before I put it on the aluminum, then stamp, then clear coat. It took a bunch of tries before I got it decent.

You are going above and beyond man. Thanks for all the hard work.

Making more

So I wasn't happy with the last batch I made, so I made 3 more. Only one is finished right now. I used many coats of the triple thick so they take a long time to dry enough so that I don't leave finger prints on them. Here is the one I just finished:

Here it is with all the triple thick, note how glossy it is, looks nice but doesn't look original:

Then I wet sanded it with 2000 grit to take off the shine:

I think I will leave one with the glossy finish.
