Hey guys. Here we go again. I love me some Nintendo cabinets! I picked up a Nintendo Punchout the other day. It basically worked out to where I got paid to take it off this guy's hands. The machine works and plays great. There's a few minor problems but nothing major at all. The lower monitor has no "Blue" at all. I am hoping it just needs a monitor rejuvenation. But we'll see. There is a slight hum in the audio. Hoping a cap kit will fix that up. And last the cabinet has a few dents and 1 corner that is barely delaminating. Ill post pics as I go. Since I just fully restored my Playchoice dual monitor this should be alot faster. Ill strip it down to nothing like I did the PC10 and rebuild it all. Let me know what you guys think! I probably wont be able to do much work on the Punchout until after the holidays. But ill try and sneak as much time in the work area as I possibly can. :) Ill keep the post updated with lots of pics.

One last thing I am looking for a PP-1000A Punchout/Playchoice 10 power supply and I also need to purchase a Filter board(054-FCC) if anyone has one they would be willing to sell for a reasonable price. I know the filter board is not needed for the it to work I just want to get it all back together the way it was from the factory.

P.S. GO GO 2600 We need those Double Puchout Kits my friend! People will buy them. I read in one of the posts that you said they might be around $175 for the kit. I am all for it! Ill pay $175 for the kit as I am sure alot of the punchout guys would as well.

It is probably your color PROMS. Switch the video signal from the bottom monitor to the top monitor and see if the problem follows. If it does, it will tell you that it isn't a monitor issue. You can also check the blue drive transistor on the neck board.

Awesome, I'm working on one right now too. Must be a common issue, because my blue color prom is jacked on the bottom monitor. Going to have Bob make me an entire set when I get to that point.

A monitor rejuvenation is not necessarily a good thing. Better hope it's something else. Although it might not be the problem as it's usually not blue give it a shot with a degaussing coil.

Hey guys I did some troubleshooting the last few days. I have a bad color Prom. 8F blue Prom bottom monitor. I am gonna have Steph ay Hobbyroms burn me another one.
