Hi all,

after recapping my Punchout PP-1000A power supply, i noticed that there are two pots on the PS: VR2 controls the 5V output, but what VR1 is used for? I thought it could be for the 24 volts, but turning it have no effects...

thanks

I don't know what the VR1 pot does. I only adjusted VR2 on mine, which as you said, controls +5V. I've attached the PP-1000A schematics, so maybe someone like 2600 or Mark Spaeth can look at it and tell you what VR1 is for.

Overcurrent shutdown. In other words, the safety shutdown threshold when an overload to the power supply occurs. Something along the lines of a short circuit across the +5 volts or a board drawing too much current. It shuts the power supply down to prevent damage to the power supply.
