I have traded Nocashvalue for his Punchout

Looks like there are 3 rams that are almost incinerated on the board.

They are socketed, but I think the board is toast

Probably need a PS too.

Ore repair for both.. Adam? =)

Holy Crap, How did that happen? I'd try taking out the chips, sockets, and caps. See if the board looks ok and if it has a short somewhere. If it looks ok, replace them then see what happens.

Anything else in particular on why you say replace the Power Supply?

Turns out they are not rams

they are TTLs

I dont have the skills to remove sockets

I am just guessing at over voltage causing this.

Im told the game was playing and it quit with a bit of smoke..

I can put you on the list bud. :)

Working on x77x's punchout now. Still got blkdog7's DKJR and wickedbass's Tron in queue.

Those are some cool pictures.

I'm trying to figure out what zapped them in a row like that. I know that rows/columns usually share voltage rails and that could locally isolate an odd voltage.

Maybe a cap shorted on the 12V line, sending the local ground to 12V, which would have thrown -7V between the ground and +5 lines. That could have fried a few. Don't know how long that could have stayed isolated from the other rows though or how long the power supply could supply current enough to fry these.

It's cool anyway.
