Hi, Last question on this game I promise. The top monitor has a yellowish tint. I am told this is a board problem, a color PROM? So, my question is, what rom is causing the problem and how could I get a new one? Thanks!

I guess it could be the color PROMs, but I'd verify it's not your monitor first. Try swapping the video cable between the top and bottom monitor and verify that the problem moves with the cable and not the monitor. If it is the PROMs, www.hobbyroms.com can burn new ones for you.

I don't have my schematics for the bak board (small top board that has the PROMs on it) available at the moment, but IIRC, someone has posted somewhat recently which chip does which colors on which monitor. I think there's a little bit of circuitry as well... I think a transistor or two on the output of each color, so it's possibly not the color PROM.

You can pull one color PROM at a time to determine which is which, and once you figure out which one is top monitor blue, you can swap with one of the other PROMs and see if you get some blue and lose the other color, or are always missing blue.

I swapped monitors. Its the board. But I dont know which rom it is, or could be?

You say you swapped monitors, did you swap physical positions or just the cables? I have seen the edge connectors on Punch Out break off and lose a single color to one or the other monitor.

Checking the edge connector is pretty quick and simple...

I swapped the video input cables to the inverter boards. Then, the top monitor looks fine and the bottom one is yellow, which leads me to believe its a board issue. Are there seperate color chips for each monitor? Its just the blue that is missing for the status monitor.
