Punch Out repair x 2 and some interesting palette logic discoveries

Was fixing some PunchOuts for PeRFiDiouS and made some interesting discoveries:

Ausome explanation, im going to stick the bug trap on those 353's and see if that fixes my oponent problem.

If it's just the opponents, it ain't the 353's (or lack thereof). The 353's take care of the entire lower monitor.... player sprites, opponent sprites, background tiles, etc.
 
Im going to have to wait till those idc connectors come in so i can get closer to the video pcb. And yes it make sense now that you pointed me in the right direction if the fans and the challanger the only thing on the small video pcb could be the ls273 at 5k. And if thats not it then its for sure on the large video board.
 
Interesting, I wonder if the watchdog was disabled or not working on that 2nd board. It is very strange that it wasn't resetting the CPU if the program ROMs where that far out of whack.

Yeah I checked the write signal to the watchdog and it was definitely getting reset by the CPU. Weird stuff...
