Punch Out has a new home...Old PlayChoice 10 Restore

I picked up 2 Playchoice 10 cabs off of ebay. They were in Blythe, CA. Picked them up on my way back from Vegas (picked up a Pacman with a 96/1 from Brentradio, thanks again!) These are in the best of shape...you can see the first pic is from the ad, second in the garage.

And the disassembly starts!

No, already have the Super done...this will be the little brother! ;)

Still working on the Monitors and Powdercoating. Should be completed by Wednesday.

That looks awesome! Very nice job... I'm going to look at a Playchoice 10 cab tomorrow - not sure if its a single or double monitor, but it's supposed to be very clean, and the price is only $50! Hopefully its a double monitor and I can do exactly what your doing... :)

That sounds like a GREAT price. I bought these for $100 each. With 2 Sanyo's each, how can you go wrong? ;)

If you pick up the PC10, for $50, that's a smoking hot deal! Hell, just a cartridge is worth that, yet alone the monitors!

Well, after 10 days, it's done.

Only capped the 2 monitors that went into this one, still have the other 2 to do. Powder Coating was finished up today, so I decided to install it and snap a few photos.

I just lined it up in it's new home -

very nice... was that bondo?
what did you spray it with?

Yes. Bondo. Plugged the holes and filled. I didn't spray. I use a fine nap roller on the cab itself, and rattle can the inside. Just takes time not to get the rollermarks. I keep it light and do about 3-6 coats.

Those are some damn fine specimens you have yourself there Joe.
So, am I correct in thinking the other cab you aquired is going to be an Arm Wrestling?

Arm Wrestling was the plan, cannot find the parts or arts! ;)

Looks like I am going to do a dual screen Playchoice. I have the parts for that...

Wow. Done in 10 days. I feel like such a slug. My restores all take so long. Maybe I should fly you in so you can finish mine up! ;)

They both look really great, by-the-way. With 6 coats in 10 days...how long do you wait between coats? And, I assume oil-based paint?

Sorry, I'm not to be pimped out. ;)

Thanks for the props. Yes, oil. 18-24 hours between coats. I ended up recapping the monitors, cleaning and prepping the inside (during the primer) and other misc. things like the CP. Time management my friend! Plus it helps that I don't sleep too much. Why do you think I have 30 keepers? :)

AW sucks, bro. Game def is not worth the price tag is comes with.

Your PO's are sweet. Well done.

AWWWW, stop it. You're making me blush.....

Thanks man. You were the inspiration when I saw the 2 side by side! Thanks to you, I now can feed my obsesive compulsive behavior.... ;)
