Hi sorry i was in a rush when i posted for the first time on here ....

Ok I have found and drug home a mid 40s ? Philadelphia Toboggan Company skee ball machine..

its was a caravel truck machine with the folding runway.. I have started the resto on it and im going on only pics i can find on the net ... I have talk to people at Skee Ball inc and they have some parts..

but NO mechanical parts.. So that where im stuck..

What i really need is a manual to start ..I know im missing the arm thing that stops the balls from rolling down until you pull the leaver .. and some other odd parts

If any of you have and leads on where to get some parts that would be great ...

There is a guy on e-bag selling the arm thing i need ( i Think ) but i cant seem to get an email back from him ...

I played this old machine with the one ball ( dog toy ball ) and have kicked the couch out of my den to make room .. what a kick in the rear.

Thanks all ...

its a 10 foot lane ...no ticket dispenser (pre 50's ) and the retrofitted winner light

and best we can date it is some where between 1946-1950..

I know in 1956 they added the winner light and all so you could buy it and retrofit to the older machines ,,,

but this machine closes mach is to the two know 46 and 48 machines,,,

i only know of the two other machines that are privately owned,,one of them is a 1946 owned by a man the works for Skee ball inc ..and has been there for the last 40 years ..the other is a 1948 owned by a coin opp collector and seller

SO if there is a forum member that owns one i would love to talk to them

here is a link to some pics

They made patented roller coasters, made carousels, and ski ball machines. PTC was one of America's greatest companies. Luckily they still make coaster cars. Just a shell of what it once was.

Regarding parts PM daddyboo. He comes across these machines in warehouses at times. To my knowledge he does not own one. Also contact Steve at Pinball Resource. He's been in the business for some time he may be able to point you in the right direction.

Good luck...OHEMIO

wow thanks for that ...

I was mistaken it has the big 14 runway/lane

i have found parts .. they have mostly stuff for S and H machines ...
they sell on e-bay under Mytruck170

well keeping with that ..

Today i started to tear down the machine ,,,,

pulled off the side rail covers and will sand blast off the old paint tomorrow and straighten out the metal and prim them for paint ... yellow i think is the right color ..

Someone painted the rubber rings ,,, so im going to try to sand blast that to ..

I have started the resto on the rings... sanded with 80 grit and painted with fusion -flat white

Rails-striped with jasco ( all 6 layers of paint ) sanded after and primed then painted..

Target broad- pulled and cork carpet striped off ..

Runway- Rubrail pulled off and ready to repaint ..

Cabinet Head- getting sanded and primed then painted ( factory color close to Gilden paint color called Cruel Work )

Cork carpet on its way from Skee Ball inc..

Hi All

All thow....

I have been talking to a friend from years back i just ran into and he tell me he has a skee ball machine that just sitting and taking up space and he would let it go ,,,

sounds to be a PTC mid 50s machine ,, what really fun about this one its a local machine from the fair grounds way back when ...

Well im back to it this week ..

So far striped the runway ( wow never again ) and back board
Sanded and filled the cabinet and painted it all ..
pulled the ball run and fixed all the mecks and installed the ball rocker arm that was missing
My friend Shawn fabed up a stand for the machine
Shawn replaced the bad wire on the winner light control box .. ( pulled out tix control box )
Finished the Target board and made my own sand pads ,, ya cost on that was under $2 !!
Repolished the all shiny stuff

Im just down to reassembly now

I have posted the new updated pics here

I can say I used to play these exact models at the jersey shore up until 2-3 years ago. Was VERY dissapointed when the arcade I frequent got rid of them as they were same machines I played as a tot. Wow can't believe they're that old!

Hi orion3311

I have learned A LOT ( History and Mechanical workings ) about these machines in a short time ....

I can tell you that the fully mechanical built by PTC ran from 1946ish and starting in 1956 you could get the WINNER light on you new machine or buy a Winner light and add it to your older machine ,,

the last fully Mechanical was built and sold in 1975,,

So you lucky you got to play them threw the years ...I only ever seen and played the Electronic ones ....
