Ps4 vr!!!!!!!!

I don't think the vive and ps4 vr are "the same thing".

They are. The Vive gives you a bigger tracking area, and can put out a higher resolution image, but they are about he same. One of the other engineers at work has the vive, and he thought the PSVR looked just as good most of the time.

The advantage for the PSVR is the cheap price, and Sony can get more games made for it. I think Sony has more units out than the vive and the rift combined now, and it has only been out for around 7 months.

Ubisoft did an amazing thing when they rolled out star trek. Vive, oculus, and psvr can all play together.

Do you like bridge crew? I picked up a PS VR last week and my buddy who has a Vive wants me to get it but it looks boring. Now that I have a PS VR and have played the Vive extensively I can say that the Vive is a better machine. I like that the PS has more games but the Vive just looks and plays better/smoother plus I like that you can set a room perimeter on the Vive.

Until there is a standard and PC gear isn't so outrageous in price(Some may think $800+ is acceptable, I do NOT), I won't go near this stuff. Seeing steam titles supporting one piece of hardware and not another is very off-putting.

I won't ever touch stuff like this for a console, because you're stuck using it on just that console and when EOL comes you're stuck with whatever software came out.

Give me something that follows a standard so I'm not left out on the software end if I don't own every hardware variant, price it under $400...and I may bite. Until then, not a chance.

you can get a PS VR for $399 but you will need the motion controllers(for certain games, regular controller works for a lot of games) and the camera so if you already have all that(and a PS4) you can get set up for $400. my buddy had a PC built just for his Vive that he paid $3000 for plus the Vive which was right at $900 at gamestop, I paid $499 for the PS VR bundle that came with everything plus a game, Rush of Blood.

Yeah, PSVR is definitely the budget priced VR. People who want cheaper than that are dreaming. You can buy a PS4 Pro, and the full PSVR bundle for about the same price as an iPhone. This is an entertainment bargain.

Have you looked at Super Hot for PSVR? It is looks pretty cool and is supposed to be really fun. I am going to grab it soon. It is supposed to be good for people who get motion sickness, which I do really bad.

An iPhone is overpriced($800+ for a cell phone is hilarious, but people keep lapping it up)...so who's dreaming? If you only knew the mark-up on this stuff...I'm all for profitable, but there's a good reason early adopters pay so much and you wind up seeing the same tech for half the price after that period, and it has very little to do with cost cutting measures.

PSVR isn't terribly priced, but the fact it's locked to a destined to be dropped console, means I'm not buying it.

Bridge Crew is great, if you are playing with a group of people in the same room, or people you know pretty well. Otherwise you're taking your chances with randoms, like any other online game, and one idiot can ruin everyone's session.

ST:BC unfortunately seems to be abandonware. I can't get a response from Ubisoft about commercial pricing for my arcade, and there aren't any responses from the devs indicating they have further plans to expand the content. It's a great tech demo they slapped the name "Star Trek" to, knowing people would buy it for twice as much as the actual gameplay is worth.

There are other VR "bridge simulator" games out there that may be worth a try:

IronWolf VR (submarine crew)
Pulsar Lost Colony (spaceship crew)

Both are early access.

What position do you like to play the most? I want to like it but the vids and demos just seem, meh.

I don't think you can legitimately claim that iphones are overpriced. They sold 41 million of them last quarter. That would seem to indicate that they are well within the price point they need to be in.

VR is going to need to improve a lot in the next 10 years. I don't think having it on a system that will die in a couple of years is a negative. The next iteration should be enough of an improvement to warrant an upgrade.

I don't follow the viewpoint of just because people pay it, means it's worth it...there are far more people these days that have to keep up with their peers in appearance and status symbols, even if it means being massively in debt and many people are these days all for toys they can't afford.
I don't subscribe to that and even though I can afford $800 for a phone, I won't pay that.

It's an opinion, I respect yours...and I see the view of "What the market will bear", I just don't agree with it for reasons mentioned.

I always get free phones when I renew my contract they are just not the newest, for example I just got an iPhone 6 for free plus we don't do credit cards I either pay cash or I don't have it.

I live by the motto "He who dies with the most toys wins".

Specifically on the iPhone, I have owned 5 android phones costing between $300 - $600. With applecare+, I spent $1100 ($970 for the model with the most storage, and $130 for the warranty). It is without a doubt the best phone value I have ever had. I have had the phone for almost 2 years now, and I plan to keep it for another year or two. Every other phone I have owned, I hated within months. I bought a Nexus two months into a two year contract just because I couldn't stand to use the phone I bought (I think it was one of the droids).

I spend about the same amount of money on computers and electronics per year as I did in the nineties. I get a whole lot more for my money now.

Missed this thread it seems. Picked up a PSVR on a whim earlier in the year... maybe last... when I came across one in Target. Mostly got it for Rez and Battlezone, both of which have been awesome. Haven't played much else yet though I'm hoping they release a VR update to Strafe on PS4 and not just PC.

I also have the Rift DK1 and CV1... Things have come a long way in just a few years. Been really enjoying the CV1 since I got it.

Really looking forward to what Is in store 5 or 10 years down the road.

Oh yeah I also have an old Gear VR which came with my S6, I think. This is the headset that has arguably gotten the most use since it's the easiest to get family/non-gamers set up and running when they visit and want to check it out. My grandfather is 96 and thinks it's amazing. I just ordered him a cheap headset and plan to give that to him with my S6 next time I see him.

It's a lot of fun and at least the devs made an attempt to keep the missions fresh with procedural generated "on going missions." If you pick it up let me know and we can make a KLOV bridge crew. IMO its the crew thst makes the game worth it.

Astrobot is phenomenal, I haven't played my VR this much in at least six months maybe more, highly recommend.

I been playing firewall like crazy, and just picked up a bunch of games on the holiday sale. Im currently around 34 games now

I just recently realized they released a VR update for the Wipeout Omega Collection. It's pretty killer in my book.
