I brought home the PSVR last night. All I have done so far is watch the shark thing on the VR Worlds disc, but it was incredible. The resolution isn't great, but for a first gen product, it is honestly more than I could have hoped for. I am going to try some more games tonight. I am really looking forward to racing in VR. I am picking up a Thrustmaster T300 Wheel setup this weekend. I can't wait to try it. I think that will be the killer app for me on this system.
I plan to get RE7, but I want to play some of the other stuff first. I have only seen extremely positive reports on RE7, so I don't want all the older stuff to be a letdown after seeing that.
I bought Dirt Rally for $20 at gamestop last night. There is supposed to be a VR DLC released soon for $13, so I am really looking forward to playing that.
This feels like a dream come true. I can only imagine how dumb I looked playing the shark thing. I had to have been smiling from ear to ear like an idiot the whole time.
There are some issues with the PS4 Pro. I think the different resolutions are creating it. When I turn off the PS VR, I have to restart the PS4 to get it to go full screen on my TV again. I need to research, but I am hoping it is something they can patch. I bought the system used, and it didn't have any issues on his regular PS4.
I picked this up for $420, and that was for the launch bundle. He also threw in No Man's Sky for free, and a pair of the Gold wireless headphones for an extra $20. With the launch bundles all sold out, it would have cost me $600 to piece it together, so I am pretty happy with the deal. I got an absolute steal on the wheel setup. I paid $450, and to buy the Wheel/ Pedals, shifter, and stand, I would have had to pay $890 new!
The sad part is, I started buying console stuff to save money over buying more arcade games. In that regard, this has been a total fail! lol I am having more fun with games than I have in a long time though, so I have to say it is turning out to be worth it.
I really hope Sony keeps going on the VR. I can only imagine what the 2nd and 3rd generation of this could bring.
