I agree, this is not the type of post we usually have in here, but really what's the harm? I mean, we had a drinking thread in here for months. No one complained about that.

Its no big deal. Seriously.

The original drinking thread was asking if people were drinking in their home ARCADES It kind of took a life of its own after that. Damn boozers!

Why does everbody treat the PS3 like it's just a bluray player?

Because outside of the fact that it's one of the best bluray players on the market, it doesn't offer much of anything over the 360. A multi-platform game on the PS3 is no better than a multi-platform game on the 360, and PS3 exclusives are too little and too far in-between to make any difference.

Now, if someone doesn't have a 360 and/or bluray player, then the nicely redesigned and cheaper PS3 is a no-brainer. But for those of us who already have a 360 and bluray player, what exactly is the enticement for spending $300 on yet another thing to add to a crowded entertainment center? A PS3 exclusive every couple of years or so just isn't enough.

4 of my 360's died. And we don't even use it alot. Great games overall, but the system is a piece of frickin crap. I got the first 3 replaced on warranty. The 4th was a no go as it was past its warranty time. My son just got one from his grandparents for his bday, so we'll have one again. We'll see how that goes :/ :/

Microsoft is now fixing them no questions asked for free... But yea the sytem was released before its time.. Triple core processors before intel and amd had a multicore. The new systems are supposed to be fine now. They shrunk the die size.. I am on my 3rd system now but I play allot.


299.00 is still expensive for a gaming system. All 3 sytems are two expensive at this point in thier life.

I do not feel like sticking to much into a blueray player because I do not feel the format is going anywhere. Digital format is the future just like with music. Already you can stream pretty much any movie or show to a 360 in high def, plus now that netflix is on there too.
