PS VITA ;-p

Definitely getting one on launch day. Hope they use the technology to their advantage (unlike the flailing 3ds).

gonna be picking one of these up also. The hardware and software both look great so far. The price is actually better than I thought it would be too.

I lost interest in the PSP pretty early on, though I'm still thinking of picking up the few games I never got to play (GoW, AC, etc) but wanted to. I haven't read too much about the Vita yet - did they mention if downloadable PSP games will be backwards compatible with this thing? If so, then this may be an instant sale for me. It's going to be hard to sell the wife on it, but with an Uncharted title on the way, that's almost good enough for me.

Me too. I was guessing $300-400. Not bad at all for $250. I think nintendo will have to drop the price of the 3ds to stay competitive

Oh yeah Downloadable PSP games work on it. It also does cross platform online for some games so PS3 users can play with Vita users.

Not too shabby. Not too shabby at all.

We'll see how long that lasts. In the past it hasn't always worked out so well. I've experienced two different cross-platform "forms" of gaming and they've been not only short-lived, but there was a huge handicap on one platform vs another. I'm talking about:

Quake 3 on PC vs Dreamcast
Halo on PC vs Xbox

Halo never offered cross platform did it?

Yeah, I was definitely surprised at the price and just $50 more for the 3G version (w/ contract with AT&T unfortunately). It will be tempting for sure.

I wouldn't say the 3DS is failing. Sure, sales were probably not what they had hoped, but it's only been out for a couple of months so it's a bit unfair to call it a failure. Once their eStore and game library start to grow, I think people will be more drawn to it.

Plus, depending on how it interacts with the WiiU (Ex. Smash Bros.) will also be a possible boost. Though, I suspect a price drop to $200 by the end of the year would help.

I didn't say it was failing. I said it was flailing, as in to struggle uselessly.

Oops, my bad! Sorry, it's still early for me. I thought I was reading a typo. But yes, it's FLAILING for sure. But like I said, I think it will pick up once some better titles come out.

No worries. Actually, when I typed that I was guessing that someone would read it that way. I hope it succeeds too, since right now my wife doesn't even play hers anymore...

Yeah, I haven't been playing mine either honestly. I will be once OoT 3D comes out this month. I may pick up Williams Pinball HoF as well. All the games they previewed at E3 look promising so it will pick up.

Maybe not officially ;)

I see ;-) I remember playing halo on X-link Kai and it sucked.

Changed my preorder to gamestop although Im not sure why the stores charge 50 for deposits when you can order online with in store pickup and not pay anything down. This way i can just throw down 20 a week until it comes out.

With the Vita's price point being 250 as well, I suspect this will happen for the holiday season, unless they see a big increase in sales before then.

Come now, you know that was a typo :p

i think i want one, the lineup on gamestops site looks cool, uncharted is an amazing series so i would love that portable. I want the 3g version but whats up with the at&t thing? does anyone have more details?

I don't know that there are any yet, but AT&T's data plans start at like $30 a month. Even if the PSP's plan is only $10 a month, it wouldn't be worth it to me. I think the 3G version is a waste of money.
