We just shopped out a full size Baby Pacman and thought it would be neat to show you the differences with the games side by side!! The prototype is one of 5 made--only 4 are still in existence. As you can see its quite deep!! The artwork is different on the control panel overlay and the playfield and plastics too! Bottom transformer is slightly different too. Todd from TNT Amusements

Very cool, not sure about the yellow t-molding on the upright!

BTW - I LOVE BABY PAC!! It's one of my favorite games to play. It doesn't get old. I just think it's great! The shopped one looks pretty bad ass. Nice work!

Does anyone know if the prototype version ever made it to CAX? I'm sure I've seen that version in person. My first guess would be at CAX but if not then I saw one on location BITD which I kinda doubt but is possible.

I saw some pictures from a guy who has one of these too... very cool version, I would love to own one some day
Thanks for sharing Todd

That is neat...I've noticed too that early production baby pacs actually have different sideart too...its alot smaller...I'm sure some of you have seen it...I don't think anyone has repro'd that version...would be neat if a scan exists or some NOS piece to repro...I'm guessing the original was a tad small so they made it bigger since the production cab was alot larger than prototype.

Holy crap! I played on one of those back in the day! I never even realized it was a proto. I didn't care much for Baby Pac, so all this time I thought that was just a kid-sized one.

Looks pretty sweet! My wife wants to know how much? She loves baby pac-man. The only pictures of a proto I have seen to this point was the one on the pinrepair baby pac page.

Seriously though, is this going to be for sale?

Wait................... you're not doing it right.
You are supposed to start a thread when it is not rare and link to the ebay auction of it.

Oh my bad.............. you are not a POS retailer, you are one of the good guys.

This is not directed at you Todd.
Nice game, thanks for sharing.

I wonder on that pic VJ posted, if the side flipper buttons were added aftermarket? I notice the one Todd posted didn't have them (and I'm glad they decided to add them on the production machines). Also notice the monitor glass is different too...on the pic VJ posted, it pretty much matches the production one in Todd's pic, but his prototype one is missing the top and bottom part of the art (mostly dots). Thanks for posting the pics, I don't recall ever seeing one of those before :)

This really makes me wonder if this was a proto or if this was nothing more than a demo. Downsized so it was easier transporting for the sales people? Mopets were that way right?

what is that in the background, with the tracks and mine cart that has a Williams logo on it???

This is a quote from the pinrepair baby pacman page.

A prototype Baby Pacman. This smaller sit-down format was apparently how
"baby pacman" got its name (the standup production format really doesn't
look like a 'baby', but this sit-down version does). They only made a few
of these before changing their minds and going to the standup format.

I would guess he knows what he is talking about. It also explains why the two are similar yet have some major differences like the buttons on the side. If you look at the flyer, you will see no buttons on the side too. ;) I'm sure they figured out it needed buttons during development, but getting closer to production. Interesting that the picture doesn't have the buttons, but the text says top and/or side flipper buttons.
