Here is a System 1 cabinet/Marble Madness that I found. It features an early version of the control and marquee artwork, with 'eyes' on the marbles. The cabinet is also slightly different. The black divider between the monitor plexi and the marquee plexi is made from routed wood. No on/off switch. No fan assembly or hole for it. Rear panel for monitor access is one big piece of wood. Sideart is black vinyl.

Very cool find! The sad thing is that if I ever saw one of those protos for sale, I probably would not have been able to tell it apart from the production model.

+1

Commenting on the photos as to what is different would be very nice. :)

Very awesome, the protos are so darn cool.
Question, don't they usually have a big panel you have to remove for monitor access?
Here is mine, serial #00813, the cab is different than yours above that panel, but the panel seems similar.
