Does anyone have the proper sideart position for Dragon's Lair measured? I have to put on new sideart tonight and I want a good measurement of space from the top of the cab to the top of the decal when factory applied?

I don't think that there is a 'proper' position, since the position varies from cabinet to cabinet by a few inches.

However, many cabinets seem to have the side art positioned in a place that looks a bit too low.

Here's a good example of what I'd call 'low' placement: http://s625.photobucket.com/albums/tt331/scottva33/Dragons Lair cabinet 02/

I'd place it so it looks 'right' to you.

I agree there seems to be a lot of guessing for this. I used a t-square to ensure the text was level and used a higher position as I have seen on lots of originals. It looks pretty good overall.

DL art always seems to be put on too low.

Maybe that's the way it came but I don't know for sure. I'm sure someone with an original can chime in.

It looks like a good spot on the flyer (even though its a conceptual drawing and not the actual cab):
