What is the proper name of the bowling machines you use to see (I am sure there are a few that still have them) at bars all the time. The longs tables that you would use saw dust on. I have a friend whose father-in-law has one and told me to come get. I am just wondering what they were called and how the hell would I move this thing? I haven't seen it yet, but am told it is very long...

Shuffle bowler? They usually come apart into multiple pieces.

There are a couple different kinds, the one you are talking about sounds like a "shuffle bowler" that uses shuffleboard wax on the surface of the lane.

There are also ones that are closer to the ground and use actual balls similar to bowling with a return and everything, I've seen those called "ball bowlers" before

You should check out http://marvin3m.com/fix.htm

yeah, i think it is a shuffle bowler. like i said, just going on what i was told. are these things worth anything? this is going to take up alot of space, i am guessing... trying to decide if i really want it or if i should ask around and see if anyone else is wanting one

I had a hard time giving one away once.

The alley part unbolts from the back pin/scoring part...

If it works, its worth plenty. Even dead its worth a little something, but they can be a hard sell due to their size. Patience is your friend with this one. I wouldnt hesitate to go get it if you have the means to do so.
