Does anyone know how to get Promlink working under Windows 7 64-bit? When I start Promlink it errors and states that it's not compatible with the version of windows that I'm running. I've tried compatibility mode with no luck.

Thanks

I can't recall if I could get it working in Win7. My PC dual boots Win7 and WinXP and I run PL under WinXP using DOSBox. I would try DOSBox on Win7 first.

Thanks to both of you for the replies. I'll experiment based on your suggestions. :)
Win7 32bit with FTDI usb-serial adapter. No dosbox. Had no luck getting DosBox working with the USB/serial adapter and since it's a dedicated laptop for shop use, just installed 32bit. There isn't any significant advantage to x86-64 on such limited hw.

I have a serial port built into this old PC so I plan to give that a go first but if it doesn't work I'll try an adapter like you suggest. Thanks.

You should be fine with dosbox on x86_64 if you have native serial port. If for some reason you do get a usb adapter, make sure it's FTDI. I had no luck getting other brands to work.

Cool, many thanks, I'll take a look. :)

Edit: I see that you're using PROMLink version 3.4 but so far I've only tried the (patched) 6.10 so will try 3.4 as well.
