Ever have something somewhat easy you were going to do, only to find that something else needed to be done... then something else, then something else. Soon, that little project turned into a pain in the ass?
I got a new machine. Elevator Action Returns. Piece of shit cab. Anyhow, that's where I come in. The control panel was a wreck. I put new T molding on the front, had to remove all buttons and sticks to put new artwork and then a plexi over this. A little work, but no biggie. So, I put it all together, drilling all the holes and plexi. Turned out awesome. After I put it together, I realize the stupid control panel underneath was so hacked together that the right side hole for the joystick isn't big enough for the game (that didn't stop whoever did this from leaving as is). So, I drilled/carved some more. After that was fixed, I broke the pin on the end of the joystick. After THAT was fixed, I ripped out my T-molding while getting it back in. What a pain in the ass, already. Like dominos, things just kept falling down as I was stacking them back up to be nice and neat.
But, with all that done, it's really turned out great. Just put in more hours than I wanted to.
