So, I've got an event coming up where I'd like to display gameplay from a cocktail cabinet running a MAME setup.

Since the output is 4:3 that leaves out using most TV screens that can take a VGA input.

One thought is to use a projector, but getting ahold of one is on the difficult side and the setup where this is happening (a 10x10 foot pavilion-style tent) is kind of difficult.

I figured that somewhere along the way the folks on here have likely done the same thing and gotten it all figured out.

...or this makes a good thread for follow up when I crash and burn miserably trying and get to be a good warning on what not to do for others.

So, has anyone else figured out how to do this?

Thanks!

wrong

where in the world did you get that bad information into your head and you believed it

vga input will display correctly if any tv has a vga input on it

Westinghouse makes TV's with VGA input
below are examples. too bad the 40 inch picture is gone

took me a long time to figure this out
I will hear you thank me after you hook one up

I plug MAME into a projector.

I have different control panels with buttons, trackball, spinners, star wars yoke, etc.

Works great. Here's a crummy pic, looks really nice in person.

I just use VGA out from the computer right into the projector.
