I just picked this up for a hundred bucks. I could have likely talked the guy down to about $50 but I figured what the hell...

Unfortunately she's non-working. The WG 4600 that is in it works, but only garbage comes up on screen.

Looks like I'm gunna be busy for a bit.

I am no expert but if he has garbage on the screen, its either power supply or cpu board. I have had bad ram boards on in WOW and gorf and the game comes up but had lines in the mazes.

I think it is obligatory that I post at least once in every WoW and Tut thread. WoW is one of my all time favorite games, and I love mine.

Yours looks quite nice for $100. I'm excited for you. Don't know how much you truly love the game itself, but I hope you get some kicks from it.

Nice score.

Once it's working properly and he hears the Wizard taunting him, how could he NOT love it?

The gameplay, the artwork, the voice, the...atmosphere...WoW's got it all, man.

But then again, my feelings for it may be influenced by the memories of a 12-year-old version of myself -- who found the game to be somewhat insidious back in the day. ;)

It just has this feel about it that I can't quite describe.

Yep I love mine too. Mine had the ubiquitous power supply connector problem. Reflowed the solder on the power connector on the board, and it roared to life!

me too. nice WoW, Jon! that looks pretty damn nice. like was said, if yr getting a lot of lines/scrambled garbage, try reseating the ram/rom boards. however, i've also seen a low -5 do that too in mine. once you get it running, you'll never be able to stop playing it.

Had time to mess with it a little....

...alright, the starfield shows up... and there are vertical lines up and down the screen in front of the starfield... the lines change colors etc. If I cycle the power, the lines sometimes stabilize a bit and don't change color so much.

I then coined up and was greeted with a voice! The game seems to coin up and the game seems to start. The voice works...I can hear the "dum-dum" of the music... and I can hear my guy die. The screen just has the starfield with various garbage moving around the screen.... and controls don't seem to work...no firing sound for example.

This is a strange cab...it appears I pull the boardset out the front. Any suggestions where to test +5v, etc?

Anyone have the paint code for the off-white? This is getting the full treatment I think.

pull out the board at the front of the cab. if you look to the right side of outside of the board cage , toward the back of the cage, there is a connector from the p/s connects to it, there should be a label under it indicating which pin is what voltage or ground. you'll have to unplug the connector to see the label.

Cool game. The guy hosting our game night tonight just got a WoW a few weeks ago. It still had a few issues, but was playable. Those interactive jailbars put quite an interesting spin on the game! :D

Definitely a neat game - MAME does not do the actual cabinet justice. Those 3 6x9 speakers pumping out synthesized power chords in your face ROCKS!

Ahhh yes... A query I have put forth on here numerous times, always without an answer. Even in threads that discuss repainted WoW cabinets.

I think one has to be a Freemason or Scientologist to get the paint codes for this game. ;)
