I've got a Q*Bert machine for sale in Corunna, Michigan. The game currently needs help with the wiring because it had a switcher hacked in when I bought it. I tested the main and sound pcb's in my machine. The main pcb needed ic A10 replaced and I did buy some and will put a replacement in there. The sound pcb wasn't outputting game sounds, but it did have speech. I bought a cap kit plus a replacement for A17 so hopefully that cures those missing sounds. The original power supply was pretty toasty so my thought was to use the Arcade Shop switcher kit and do it properly. The +5 wires need to be put back with the connectors because they had just been run right to the switcher. I bought replacement connectors and pins for a few filter board connectors that were toasted and will include those. The coin door wiring has also been messed with and it had a credit switch on it. Condition wise the cab has the typical swelling and "pimpling" toward the bottom. It's definitely restorable but a project game at least with some wiring to get it fully running. Price wise I'm asking $350 to hopefully finance another game purchase, but it needs to be sold at some point because I know I don't need 2 Q*Bert machines.

Bump it up!

I installed the cap kit and replaced 2 IC's on the sound board and tested it in my Q*Bert cab and it's working. The A10 chip on the main pcb has been replaced so both boards are now working.

Damn this is tempting! Qbert is on my want list for sure, but I am saving for a Fish Tales! Always at the wrong time!

More recent pics showing how I cleaned up the inside and control panel. Also the wire at pin 24 of the edge connector needs to be re-pinned and put back in the harness. I found it that way and haven't taken the time to crimp on a new pin yet, but I did pull the old pin. In asking around, you can just use a Molex pin as long as it's non-trifurcon type, but the originals are Amp and no longer available.
Edit: Sorry I didn't grab a photo of the bezel yet. I removed it from the cab for safe keeping, but it is in very nice shape. I would recommend some triple thick to help preserve it because there is an area where the paint is lifting from the glass.

S#&@!
I wish I had the cash or know how to make this happen
Good luck with the sale
Thanks. :) I really would like to sell it to fund another game purchase but we'll see. I guess I'll go ahead and open myself up to it....am I really asking too much at $400? I've thought about eBay for better luck or CL.

Its a tested working Qbert!
Not a bad price at all, Im saving for a Tempest or else Id be on my way...
Someone please buy this so I dont have too!

I would take it but too far. If it was half the distance I would day trip. Anyone up there coming to Nebraska or Missouri or at least half way?

Bump! I've had a lot of interest but no commitments especially due to distance issues. How about $350 and maybe someone can put the $50 in their tank. :) I've also had questions on where I am in Michigan...I'm located in Corunna which is right between Flint and Lansing. Help me purchase a Star Wars. :)
