Project: Battlezone

It'll be interesting to see if you have the same problem I had with the BZ film... at a glance I'm thinking that your monitor isn't installed properly, just as mine wasn't.

If so, that'll make it hell trying to get the Wizz film on correctly.

You might check this out -- it may save you a lot of time and hassle and you can jump to the section that describes how your monitor is (mis)mounted.

BTW, the cab looks really nice and the sideart looks really good too!

Any suggestions on how to remove the monitor and/or install it correctly?

I think the details are in that link... or at least a description of the problem.

I'm not 100% sure your monitor is in wrong but it appeared that way from the one picture. The key thing is how much above the frame your monitor is sticking up. Compare your monitor with the one in the link -- if yours sticks up too high (as mine does) then you'll have a hard time getting the film over the monitor and having it lay wrinkle free.

That soot looks like the leftovers from drywall sanding...

Aside from the dirt, it looks to be in pretty solid shape.

Glad I could help -- that was driving me crazy until I figured out why the apparently easy task of replacing the film on my BZ wasn't working out well.

Mine had tape on the top and bottom as well. Not sure why.

Nice work! That looks killer! I have yet to see one of those around here. I would gladly trade any cab I have for that vector goodness.

Can anyone recommend a good "paint pen" or something in WHITE that I can use to restore the white areas of the cab?

Frizz, that would be a good candidate for the old mask and spray trick. The artwork has a simple border/outline that would make masking it easy. Then use Krylon Fusion, Rustoleum 2X coverage or a similar adhere-to-anything white spray paint and hit the whole cab for an even white finish. When satisfied with the finish, remove the mask and lightly sand the raised ridge the paint creates around the artwork and you are done. Certainly a little more work, but it will look better than trying to find a 'paint pen'.

do your sticvks actually return to center??

if not daviea actually just started reproducing the centering grommets for those...
wizzes workshop offers grommets too but i was not impressed weitht he quality..

wiz also offers pre cut ready to install color films.. and i think hje was the guy to comeup with the tron mcr power adapter first...

looks good. Did you put the hs save kit in it to get it going or did it already work?
