Maybe because the file is named sound1.716 ? Maybe if I change that to sound1.bin it will work?

I gotta figure out how to do that as well. I know I'm probably making this more difficult than it needs to be but it's amateur hour over here lolI can only say there's no magic to this. And you seem to have a good idea of the process. I would copy the code from the known working EPROM you are swapping around and apply that to one of the chips. See if that works because maybe you have the wrong code.
I don't have that model so I can't give you step by step. Just read the manual. This stuff is straightforward. Just sometimes finicky.I gotta figure out how to do that as well. I know I'm probably making this more difficult than it needs to be but it's amateur hour over here lol![]()
BINARY!What type should I be choosing? This wasn't an option on the Needhams.
yeah the filename doesn't matter. it processes the code inside the same way. lolMaybe because the file is named sound1.716 ? Maybe if I change that to sound1.bin it will work?
Success! It doesn't really matter now that you have the right code.I was able to copy and write the code from a known working eprom and it worked so I know my programmer is working correctly. Now I just need to figure out what I'm doing wrong then as far as pulling the files I need off the net.
They all work lol I just need more eproms for them. I was using the working one I have and swapping it from board to board to test them. I do have 5-6 more that need further troubleshooting but that's another issue alltogtheryeah the filename doesn't matter. it processes the code inside the same way. lol
try your roms in one of the System 6/7 sound boards, but make sure it's one jumpered for 2716 (Robotron/Joust/Sinistar are 2532)
I highly doubt if you have like 25 of those System 3 ones that none of them work, but just for posterity
The problem is next time is now! The main task is to get those six chips programed for the two pins I'm working on. Baby steps are being taken lolSuccess! It doesn't really matter now that you have the right code.. But, sure, solve the process for next time.
Well I have a needhams and a BP microsystems one. I'm going to try to verify that the needhams is working as well by duplicating that flash rom on that programmerI don't think I ever used a Needhams programmer before, so I'm not familiar with the program
Bin file duh... I'm a idiot lolBINARY!
This ^Are you sure the socket on the board you're trying the ROM with is good?
Thanks Matt I'm going to try the needhams now after I've had partial success with the BP microsystems programmerWith the Needhams software, you have to select your file, then read it into your buffer (with the binary option). Then you can program to your target device (with the buffer data).
