I've been trying to figure out how to update GTFore boards into complete. But now Im stuck. I have sucessfully cracked the security chip and made copies that work fine. However this does me no good since the board itself has to be updated. Board has to be updated to hardware version 6. There is a chip in the board that contains this info and I might be able to crack it, but at the moment I dont have the schematics for it to even start. So I have decided to go down a different route.

I got my hands on a GT complete upgrade CD. Of course in order to use it you have to let the board call into IT and check the authorization code. And of course IT is no longer supporting this so the phone call wont even be answered and your just stuck at a screen that says "no answer" and nothing gets done. I've never done one of these upgrades so if someone here has please tell me if Im wrong but it looks like it just calls IT and then if IT was still working it would check my code and make sure the serial number of my board is allowed to be upgraded and then give the CD a okay of some sorts hang up and then the CD would start the upgrade. Im guessing that all the upgrade info is on the CD and nothing is changed via the modem. So here is where I need some programming gurus. I suck at writing my own programs(which is why I am good at cracking and copying! LOL) I need someones help to rewrite the program on the CD to skip the authorization check and just start the upgrade. I figure the reason IT can send out CDs like this is because they require the security chip to allow it to work so even if people can upgrade thier boards it would be useless without the security chip(which I can make)

The file system on the CD is pretty simple. The file Im guessing that needs to be changed is called update.bin .
At the very least I just need to be able to update the board to hardware version 6. The harddrive is easy to make and the boot rom doesnt have to be changed unless its a real early version(I can make the newest if needed since I have the rom file) . If I could just find the data to upgrade the Xilinx chip(if its on the cd) I would be set since its a JTAG programmable chip and its erasable which is why they can upgrade it.
Anyone that thinks they can edit the .bin file message me and I'll send it to you.
