Hi everyone,

I have a question about programming EEPROMs. I have bought a stack of 27C512 EEPROMs and I was wondering how I would go about programming 32Kb of data onto the chip instead of the full 64Kb. (pretty much trying to replace a 27C256 with a 27C512)

If this is any help I am trying to do this on a Sega Outrun, specifically the data stored on the EEPROM opr-10188 in IC slot 71.

Thanks for the help,
Jake

if your buying up 27512s make sure to get the W27C512 from winbond

it's electrically erasable so no need for an external eraser or waiting around for them to erase!
(also the -45 versions can be used to replace 82Sxx PROMS!!! (though you need an adapter and it's kind of large, still a nice thing to have in a pinch)
