So let me start by saying that I am nto typicall one to pimp out a pinball machine. I don't have a fondness for LED's, I don't add "toys" generally, but I thought this was pretty cool, so I decided to check it out.
This is the light up speaker kit for Sterm machines. I bought this from www.pinballtoppers.com
The cost, shipped for the kit, 2 acrylics, and a pigtail for the power (not needed in my case, but I got one to be safe) was $72.00
The box, which was a little smaller than I expected, was packed well and arrived safely. Here are the contents of the box: LED frames, acrylics (optional and sold seperately), the LED controller, hardware and instructions.
The directions were simple, easy to understand, and to the point. There were also photos to guide as well. 10 out of 10 in this department.
The install was very straightforward. Unscrew the speakers, remove the grilles, insert the acrylics, replace grille, add led frame, add speaker, screw down using existing holes. After that, it's a matter of 2 plugs and running the power to the inside of the cabinet (also plug and play. There is no soldering or wiring needed.
Install took me about 15 minutes. Here are some before and after pictures. The acrylics alone are badass in my opinion. The light just sets them off a bit. And as in most cases, the photos do not do them justice.

Close up showing detail of the acrylic:
The only negative at this point is that the controller for the LED strips does not seem to be working correctly. Admittedly, I have not read the manual, so this may be user error at the moment.
I think this is a pretty cool kit. Is it worth $72? To me, yes. To you? Maybe not. But if you have a later model Stern machine, and think this is way cool, you might want to check them out!
Feel free to e-mail or post any questions you might have.
