I know I know....this monitor's reputation is bad......but this one is new and working and has revised chassis boards....

But I'm just trying to understand why it's acting weird with Standard Res CGA games, but it acts perfectly normal with Medium Res EGA games.....makes a really weird noise and the picture is jumpy.....

It makes no sense, it's wired correctly, I've tried this with another Standard Res game and it does the same thing.....

I tried the Factory Reset, or Recall to be exact already.

But what about the Sync from the MV-4F? It only has one sync coming out.....

Would a sync cleaner clear this up?

Probably not. Just make sure the sync isn't connected to the negative vertical.

And did you do a FACTORY Recall, or a standard recall?

Standard, I haven't figured out how to access the factory menu...

Lemme look at this diagram again online, because what it has listed is....

CGA/EGA pinout

-Red
-Green
-Blue
-Ground
-H/V
-H/V Component

Sync should only go to H/V Component.

To access the factory menu, hold the DOWN and SEL buttons at the same time until the factory menu pops up. Then do a recall. The still in the factory menu, adjust the brightness, contrast and colors up. Then exit and go to the regular menu and adjust the brightness, contrast, colors, etc like you want them.

When you do a standard recall, it just resets it to whatever the Factory Menu settings are currently at. A factory recall resets the CMOS. The D9200 is notorious for CMOS corruption, which often causes certain features not to work, like turning the brightness up but still having a dim picture, working in one or two resolutions but not all three, etc...

Still nothing different after factory recall. So I tried a few things out...

Switched the monitor's wall outlet.....nothing...
Switched the PSU on the game........nothing....
Adjusted the 5v rail within a reasonable tolerance because the hardness had a small drop out at the connector (4.88v), now sitting at 5.02v DC........still nothing...
Re-wired the connector...well cut off the old molex I patched up for the video....still nothing...
Tried a different game.....still nothing...

I really think it's the monitor's doing instead of anything else, and I'm probably going to have to contact Wells Gardner about it.

oh and this....
