I've been refurbing a Space Riders playfield and started working on the inserts that cover the lamps. I went by everything I read online and used a straight-edge to make sure they were level, but when I checked them later, it looks like one edge is not completely flat.
It is barely noticeable and the ball still appears to roll in a straight line over it, but I can feel the difference between the side it is completely flat and the side that is elevated.
I've thought of trying to paint the black line around the insert to see if it fills in the difference. I guess I could also try to sand it down, but I'm afraid I'll damage the paint near the lamp cover.
I'm going to use a shorter straight-edge on the covers I've not done yet. I think the one I was using was long enough to have one end on a higher spot on the playfield, making the edge uneven on one side.
So, any ideas on how to deal with it now that it's super glued in place?
Thanks,
-JM
