There has to be a simple explanation, but I'm stumped. Maybe someone can figure this out..
I'm restoring a Stargate. I'd collected a couple of marquees/bezels/boardsets/etc.. between Ebay and parting out a very rough cabinet years ago. The cabinet I am nearly finished repainting was converted to JAMMA, but was definitely Stargate, as it had most of the paint still on it.
I've got the cabinet work done, red..and black stencil done, as well as all the inner black, so I've started piecing it together. New ground braid, new t-molding, making both back doors out of 1/2" birch ply.
The speaker assembly with lower marquee bracket was pulled off of another Stargate. I have 2 marquees that are the same size. The cabinet only had one set of holes for mounting the speaker tray, so I'm almost positive I have it mounted correctly.
The marquee sticks up WAY too much, right at 1/2" over the top edge of the cabinet, too much for the flex in the upper bracket to compensate for. The marquee seems to be sitting in the lower bracket like it should.
I've removed and installed the speaker assembly several times, trying to figure out - could there have been another set of holes? Nope.. I just don't know. Any help would be appreciated!! Pics below, as it did happen.
