I am new to this whole world of arcade ownership so please forgive me for any stupid questions I may ask, you have my full permission to shake your head and mumble to yourself "stupid rookie".

What does it mean when a cabinet is dedicated?

Thanks,
Stupid Rookie Will

Dedicated has many meaning, but in my opinion it means that the cabinet shipped from the assembly line with that particular game and artwork installed.

Some people choose to muddy the water by including games that were sent from the original factory in kit form to a secondary factory where they were installed in generic cabs, but I don't include those. I have also seen people refer to a cabinet with only one game installed as being dedicated to that game, but I think that is a horrible misuse of the term.

Cool. I was just worried that it might have meant that that cab can only be that game.

Thanks

page one!

(page one means that basically this could potentially be a long epic thread and for some reason being on page one is cool)

For reference, see a thread by Noice with the word "debt" in the title.

welcome aboard!

You should only collect dedicated machines...mame sucks :)
