I recently got a Street Fighter 2 World Warrior cab. This is probably a dumb question but I am sure there are a lot of smart people on this board that can answer it. Can you safely play a jamma pcb in a capcom cps jamma cab? I was going to assume yes but just wanted to make sure.

Yes you can.

Why not? You can plug any JAMMA standard board into the JAMMA harness. That is what it is for. The problem comes if the monitor orientation or controls are wrong.

In my Raiden (JAMMA), I presently have have both Raiden and Raiden 2 PCBs mounted so that the harness can easily be moved from one PCB to the other.

Don't feel dumb, I asked the same question a while back. Yes, you can. Always better to ask than fry a board.

Agreed. Happy to report though, Capcom CPS is nice and standard aside from the kick harnesses, and that won't matter for another JAMMA board. I highly recommend using SF2 machines as test units for other JAMMA PCBs, and SF2 PCBs as test boards for other JAMMA hardware!

Not a dumb question. The only JAMMA standard systems that you need to be wary about are Neo Geo MVS, which are JAMMA...but aren't. It's a mess.

Depending on the game, you may need to swap your kick harness as well (CPS1 uses a different harness for the kick buttons compared to, say, CPS2/3).

Good luck!
