Anyone else having problems sending new private messages?

Code:
Method Not Implemented

POST to /private.php not supported.

I'm getting that when trying to send a new message :(

I just sent you a PM and it looks like it went through. Maybe there is a problem with the user that you are trying to PM? Have you ever PM'ed the person before? Some people turn off the ability to receive PMs.

Weird, so I can PM VectorJunkie. But I can't PM Daviea (ram controls).

IE 8 gives the same error too

Code:
The website is unable to display the webpage
 HTTP 501/HTTP 505
   What you can try:
Go back to the previous page.

     More information

This error (HTTP 501 Not Implemented or HTTP 505 Version Not Supported) means that the website you are visiting doesn't currently have the ability to display the webpage, or support the HTTP version used to request the page.

Maybe his PM box was full. It should give you a better error though if that was the case, but who knows... He did the free parts giveaway and got a ton of PMs, so I not sure what to think.

Ya after looking around I would think that his box was full and the error wasn't programmed yet. There's a lot of rough code still.

It has to do with the characters you are trying to send in the message.

I ran into the same problem and had to change my message around to get it to work.

Hmm weird, I figured it out.

It was because I was sending a link to BYOAC ...

http://wiki.arcadecontrols.com/ wiki/ LS-30_Switch_Service

That seems to break pm's, does it for anyone else?

Update: wtf, it even cripples posting that url in a thread...... added spaces no issue

Hey, my PM isn't full. I've got room for several hundred more msgs, unless the stated limit is lying to me. LOL

I get PM's all day long every day, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

These error messages don't actually come from the forums. They are the result of interaction with the forum being intercepted and blocked by an application firewall. It usually happens when you "post" (ie: submit a message or pm) that has some content either visible to you or invisible that the firewall doesn't like because it thinks it looks like hacker activity.

The old system, Ubbthreads, seemed to be structured in a way that it was easy to upset the firewall. vBulletin much less so, but it still happens. When we upgraded to vbulletin we worked out the most common ones but it still happens sometimes.

It isn't generally related to who you send to, or anything like porn words (it isn't a censorship system). It is usually because something in there looked like" ../ .." or an sql statement or something else that is a known hack method.

Needless to say, the system is a little ambitious. If it happens to you, try and take out non A-Z, 0-9 characters out of your message (especially %, *, <, >) and try again.

If it keeps happening, email us or something, though it is hard to figure out if we can't see the msg you typed in.
