I just started priming a cabinet with Zinner Oil Based Interior Primer. Before I used Zinner BIN Primer. I asked the guy at the store if the Oil Based stuff works the same, he said it does except it doesnt lock odors in. I put a coat on last night, (same foam roller I always use) and this shit went on like textured spackle. Is there a difference in how Primers go on? Someone give me some advice please. Gah.

Use automotive primer instead, rolling paint leads to suck :(

I just got another gallon of the 40$ Zinner BIN, it rolls on way smoother. Its not like that cheaper shit. Last time I listen to a kid in Menards.

Imagine if you were restoring a car and used that primer on a body panel..

I used either spray can automotive primer or spray it from a gun. Goes on slick. I don't understand why anyone would use a roller for primer.. the final finish can only be as smooth as the prep work. If rolling primer, you'd need to block sand it slick before putting the topcoat on, unless you like it Stern lumpy.
