First off, anyone admit to having one of these games IN their game room? I am considering moving mine from the scary garage, down to the main game room so that I and my daughter can play it. Is this game Jamma+? Can I plug in a Mortal Kombat board and play it, or not? I have heard conflicting reports on that, so I thought I'd ask. Since I have stored this machine in the garage, it has received zero play. Down in the game room, I'd expect quite a few clicks on the meter. Primal Rage lovers unite.

I like it. I am not a die hard fan of it or anything. But if I can find one with good art for a good price, it would be in my gameroom. I was always told it was jamma +. I would think as long as you have the right kick harness and # of buttons, you could play MK.

MK uses a separate "kick" harness for the extra buttons; from what i could see in the schematics for PR it does not, at least not the same type.

you would also be short a couple of buttons as PR has only 4 per player and no standard 1/2 start. MK has 5 per player with 1/2 start.

Dammit, well that won't work then. I will just use PR as a placeholder until I finally get my Dedicated MKII.

I like the game. I plan on having it running in one of my cabs just haven't decided which one yet.

As far as Jamma Plus goes the plus can be any sort of auxillary connector. Some of the games like Midway games use standard molex connectors while others like Namco games use a special edge connector. There isn't a set Jamma Plus standard.

I like PR. A nice dedicated would be great. Have a PCB for now but haven't tried it out.

Still have PR on my PS one. It is lots of fun.

I admit it. I have a Primal Rage in a JAMMA cabinet that I used to play. I like the game and used to play it in arcades. There is something about Chaos' toxic piss for a fatality or even puking and catching it. Not my favorite all time, but I definately would have picked up the dedicated one you did for $120 bucks or whatever. You can plug MK in and play it as long as you have the kick harness for MK.

Did you pick up anything at auction?

I have one. It came from atari's game room. My brothers kids liked the game and I take it to CAX every year.

One of my long term projects is to either convert it (without damaging it) into another upright t-mek to link with my proto t-mek.

That's crazy talk.

I've always liked the game as well as it's dedicated cabinet. I have a giant (5' x 3') vinyl promo banner in my basement shop area. I play it in my KI cabinet with a small wiring adapter that plugs in between the controller plugs so the 4 buttons are laid out correctly. It's got lots of stuff in it that most people never see: "lightning/thunder combos", clever combo names, no cheese sign, easter eggs, great fatalities, etc. Sure, it doesn't have a great fighting engine in it but it's not poor either. I've always enjoyed it's attract mode story and sounds too. It's a great JAMMA board for the price.
