Price police 911 !!!!!

One of these days I'll download the MJ popcorn gif

WAIT.... Phet flaming????? I figured a blown out match at best....Wow!

I always figured he was just an old queen or something. What with the use of all those old cliches like "bearded clams" etc... a

Not saying that RLevin isn't a nice guy.

In the auction he states that, "This board was marked working but unable to test so sold as is." To me thats an untested boardset if the seller can't verify it works. Therefore the price is way out of line for the market. I'd say 75-150 was reasonable.

How can you compare the price of a working board vs an untested board?

I've never dealt with RLEVIN, but here is what I know:
1. His prices are very high
2. He sells a lot of stuff at those prices
3. He'll give you a deal if you ask nicely (but remember, this stuff is selling at the higher prices)
4. He doesn't have to move inventory quickly, so he can sit on high prices
5. He seems to be a nice guy
6. KLOV users are not his target demographic
7. He does not give free moon pies with every order
8. There are way too many threads about his prices

*Applause*

i think rlevin is great! i remember when he first got on here, it seemed like he dug himself a hole so big he would never get out. there were alot of reputable people with reasonable sounding complaints. however, he took the time to answer publicly every single charge layed out against him. after all was said and done, he earned alot of respect from me. there was alot of hot headed trash talk, which was fun to read. i think he is an ethical businessman trying to do the right thing, but when people piss him off he can have a short fuse. complaining about his prices is ridiculous, he's not some dumb motherfucker with a broken converted pac man hellecade trying to get 4 grand for it. he is a knowledgeable retailer in the arcade business, and the market supports the prices he charges. after the way people have repeatedly negro piled on him, i have to say i admire his stubbornness and determination to stay put and recognize the people on this board who keep these games alive as brothers.

WOW!! An actually tested and working boardset for a reasonable price. Imagine that!!

Quit whining, 80sguy. He can charge whatever he wants and guess what? No one's forcing you to buy. Oh, how awful that someone can actually make their living off of this hobby!

Holy shit! Why is this thread still alive???????

Who gives a rats ass what anyone sells their crap for?!?! If you don't like the price, have a chuckle and move on. Why would you go out of your way and email the seller to berate them? Why would you post this thread? Nothing productive can come from it.

Agreed.

Please play nice. I am still amazed after all that has gone on here in the last month that I even have to ask....:confused:

Sorry..Not trying to cause trouble..just discussing. If you can wait long enough for someone to pay that much then more power to ya.

Agreed.

Being that Dale is VERY close to me, I'd love it if his machines were more affordable. But as long as someone in Dumbfuckistan is willing to pay top dollar, then why wouldn't he sell his stuff for as much as he can get?

It still doesn't stop me from making offers and getting turned down. ;)

i never take part in the price police scene, but seriously, ban people from sharing there opinions..
yin & yang...

This is different. Price policing is like instant thread poison. It puts everyone on the defensive.

Another thing which annoys alot of members is when there will be 10 new threads a day in the main forum whose sole purpose is to provide a link to an outrageously priced ebay listing. Then the thread will devolve into some sort of pissing match.
