Price for a NBA jam monitor

well, location and availability are factors I'm sure.

If I were to buy a 25-27" monitor from someone that had been rebuilt and rejuved and was working perfectly, I'd pay $150-$200 no problem.

If it's not rebuilt, but it works good, $100+ .

Really subjective and based on need and availability.

Yeah, I have been paying between $80 and $100 for 25" K7000s lately. None of them had any work done on them though (original caps, flys, etc.), but theyhave all worked at least. Did your NBA Jam not come with a monitor in it, or does it just not work?

If you are just wanting to put another monitor in it that is certainly up to you. Zeno, for instance, has new monitors in his MKs and his YouTube reviews are pulling me in that direction too (with the games I plan on holding on to). But just out of my own curiosity, can you explain what dead refers to? Is it a dead chassis? Bad tube? I ask because if your intention is not to drop in a brand new monitor, you can possibly have yours repaired cheaper than buying a working used one.

Yes, if it's simply a chassis issue, you can have it repaired by Buffet for far cheaper than buying a whole new monitor, or you may even be able to repair it yourself. I assume you have tested for voltage at the monitor's power connector to make sure it's receiving the 115vac it needs and it's not a coabinet issue?

25" monitor. I don't think I have seen a 27" in one. Usually k7000. If you can find one, $200. I would say fix what you got(if you have one). Rejuv the tube repair the chassis. Good chance it will be salvageable.

Calgary is a major population center, right? Chances are someone local would do an exchange (take your old monitor and some cash and give you a working one).

I do that from time to time, but usually only with 19" as I don't have enough of a stock of 25" ones to do exchanges.

dead i mean, cracked. Got a good deal on the cabinet. There are a couple guys here that do some repairs for monitors and ive touched on them a bit. But this one needs to be replaced. i could prob salvage some of the parts from it. Didnt think about that. maybe check out one that needs parts and start from there.

still have not picked one up yet. might be a weekend project for myself.

My first cabinet was a NBA Jam with a cracked tube. Got an old TV from Goodwill for $20 and swapped them out. Cheap fix and worked great.

thanks for the props zenomorp:)

yea if it is a K7000 then the chassis is definitely worth keeping and getting fixed.

they are great chassis and are the work horse of wells gardner.

plus many tv tubes will work with them and you have a 75% chance or greater that you won't even have to swap the yoke.

the K7000 works with a wide variety of yokes so it is almost universal in my opinion.

good luck on finding a new monitor. and if it is a K7000 and you need it repaired shoot me a PM.

Peace
Buffett

Without attempting to derail this thread too much, is junknet.net the best list for donor tubes, or is there a better one out there? I ask because junknet does not show too many 25". The search function did not bring much up regarding a general list. I have found people referencing b&k adapters to tell, so maybe I need to get a rejuvenator?

Call me Freezepop. I have some spare K7000 tubes. you can have one and see if that chassis runs.
