I found a WWF Superstars arcade in the area and the guy is wanting to get $500 for it? Is is worth the price? Would I be overpaying? I am a newbie and have never purchased an arcade machine.

I am going to take a look at it sometime this week, is there things I should know before I go and look at it?

Yes, before you look at it you should know that whoever is selling it is either a dealer fishing for suckers or someone with a wholly inflated sense of value for that machine.

You would be overpaying by a whole lot.

Think $200 if it is in really nice shape, closer to $100 if it isn't all that nice.

I am not even sure it is even a good game. No one ever seems to talk about it around here.

Wrestlefest is really what I am after as I have it posted in the wanted section here.

I though if I could get this game for the time being until a Wrestlefest came up on CL close in my area would tie me over. I was also thinking about getting a wrestlefest jamma board and put on the WWF Superstars arcade.

Here is my next question, what is a price check on Wrestlefest? There are two different cabinets (2 player and 4 player)

4 Player Wrestlefest is much more common than 2 player. A dedicated 4 player Wrestlefest cabinet is about a $250 - $300 machine, any more than that is paying too much. I've actually seen the Wrestlefest board go for as low as $20 + shipping, so you'd mostly be paying for the cabinet and the artwork. $500 for a WWF Superstars is a terrible price, I wouldn't pay more than $150 for it, and even then it would have to be dedicated with pristine artwork.

Like 90% of price checks for this era of game, is it a true dedicated or a wackado conversion? This thing was used a lot as a conversion kit game. What condition is the cabinet?

Superstars gets love here. I have a dedicated project on the back burner (will run both Superstars and Wrestlefest). Surprisingly, good nos side and cpo art was harder and more expensive to find than I thought. Utilized white top sticks that seem unique to this game. At least, I haven't seen them on anything else.

500 is a good starting point for haggling as a seller if it's a very clean dedicated machine.
