Is $200 steep for a working Star Castle with a cabinet that has bad water damage on the bottom? i mean, "WOW! That's ugly" bad. Damage only extends about 6 inches up.

I'm not a big fan of this game and have it on Vectrex. However, I would like to expand on my VG collection. Maybe use this as trade bait?

I think that is a fair price but not a great one if it is a game you want in your gameroom. I don't think you're going to be able to trade it for too much though...

I don't think $200 is bad at all for a working Star Castle... even with the water damage. And if both sides have good side art, then it's a better deal. ;)

In the grand scheme of things, the parts value is well worth $200. So you could sit on it until you found a better cabinet.

$200 is fair for working. Play it decide if its a keeper. If its keeper work on finding a cabinet, if not, then you can pass it along and get your money out of it.

it's still a decent deal if the monitor is nice and bright. if it's dim and can't be adjusted bright then chances are you're looking an expensive tube replacement that would make it not worth it.

Parts are worth $200 easy

Based on recent ebay sales (not mine), working boardsets go for $100 and a working monitor goes for about the same. A bright B/W vector tube is easily worth $100.

Most Star Castles (with the Amperex tubes) need new CRTs, IMHO. I just assume that going in.

6" of water damage is nothing, cut a replacement piece, pocket screw and bondo it. To me, the important thing about a cab are the things I can't replace easily or cheaply. How's the Side Art? The CPO? The Bezel? Does it have the CPO rails and Marquee rails?

I'd only sell for $200 if I really wanted it out of my sight.

I didn't get it and moved on to a Donkey Kong upright. My space is limited and I have Star Castle on my Vectrex.
