Price Check: Three Stooges Arcade Game

If it were me, I'd keep it. Looks to be in near pristine condition and it looks amazing!

Hang on to it until the next big anniversary (100th) of the Three Stooges comes around. It's either based upon 1928 or 1930 depending on who you ask; only 10-12 years to go!

I looked up game play videos of it, doesn't seem that bad.

Maybe by then you'll grow to love it.

Seems like a solid investment for 10-12 years if it's not hurting your wallet.
Thanks. I hadn't thought of that. I definitely don't need the money, and have considered keeping it.

I would say keep it if you like it but if you don't and can get good money for it - sell it now . There are fewer living stooge fans everyday and who knows where the arcade market will be in 10 years . Either way it's cool that one passed through your arcade !

I really don't have any attachment to it, other than being in awe of how rare it is. As far as the market now, and less and less stooges fans going forward, I've had those exact same thoughts. Pretty good reasons to sell.

I'm not even 40 yet and consider myself a big fan. Heck, the last anniversary (Diamond) was hosted by a young Woody Harrelson (57 now). Sam Raimi was influenced by them in Evil Dead. Not to mention a new release by C3 Entertainment, which owns the Three Stooges brand and titled "The Three Little Stooges" to be released in 2018 and is a sequel to their 2012 release.

Per C3: After noticing the fans of the franchise gave the young Stooges in the 2012 film great response, the filmmakers of the first film figured, "Hey, we gotta make a whole new movie out of the three little Stooges."

The 2012 The Three Stooges movie stats:
Budget $30 million
Box office $54.8 million

On its opening weekend in US, The Three Stooges earned $17.1 million and debuted second behind The Hunger Games.

I'd call a 45% ROI a pretty good success in 2012.

The OG fans will be around for some time, and new generations (like me who watched with their father) are still here, as is my dad, and my boys.

It's rare bro, keep it. If you picked this up for a penny, what's the rush to sell - view it as an investment and know you have one of the rare gems in the arcade collecting world. Think about it, why would anyone else want it if not a huge fan of The Stooges? If the game play is viewed predominantly as awful - why would anyone else want it? It's rare. An investment. Make it your investment.

Pretty safe to say this forum grows everyday. A lot more grown men are looking for nostalgia. Your "find" holds two of them - entertainment memorabilia and arcade enthusiasts.

Hell, a LOT of my pickups for other collections were just for the fact they were "rare" and that few individuals have them in possession.

Another fun note - your thread in the price check forums is the 7th 4th 3rd 2nd most popular by views out of 78, aside from a "Sticky", and I see no reason it won't soon move to 2nd or 3rd 1st place. If that doesn't get your attention, don't know what will.
