$250 supposedly complete (minus back door) but not working. Guy said he powered it up but nothing comes up. No game sounds, no nothing. He said there was "a lot of chords unplugged". What do you all think? Worth the $250?

if the monitor (complete), pcb's and a/rII board are there, no brainer, all day long!

What are your plans for it?

Keep and restore? Resell? Do you like the game?

I love tempest. It is one of my grails, actually. It would definately be a welcome additon to the collection.

Are you good at electronics repair? Do you have $$ to pay to get things working?

Just a general check-list of stuff. Sometimes it's deflating to see a favorite game sit, non-working, if you can't do anything about it right away.

Of course this group will help...but you'll probably have to get dirty, too.

Sadly I dont know much about electronics repair, but I am itching to learn. I've actually just ordered a bunch of stuff to help with general repairs. New multi meter (old one died) soldering and desoldering station etc. I have buffet near by, which has been an invaluable source of info and help. I really want to get more into learning how to do repairs on my own stuff. I know tempest probably isnt the best place to start being a vectro monitor and all, but at 250......
