I was wondering what a Tempest with a CC-multigame would be worth?

The Tempest has a rebuilt monitor with LV2000, bronze bushing in the spinner and a working multigame. Real nice artwork and marquee.

Ball park figures... I can take some pics if that would help.

I'm considering letting this go to help fund a pin I've found....

Thx
Tom

Pics will definitely help, Tom. I sold mine in nice shape with a rebulit 6100 minus the multi kit for $800 a few months ago, so I would say $950-$1100 for yours. Unless you find a right buyer, you may fetch more money at the end if you sell the kit separately though IMHO.

I was gonna say somewhere in the neighborhood of $750-1000 depending on the cabinet condition. I'd value the game at about $450-650 and the multi at about $300-350.

EDIT: Oh, but since you are in Cali that probably bumps the total up about $100-200...

I think a working vanilla one would be $600-$650 So maybe a bit more for the multi. Thats not a easy multi to come by anymore AFAIK.

Thx for the replies guys. The game is in nice shape. I took some pics of it last night but then I thought if I posted them here, this would turn into a FS post so I'll save them for when I decide to post it.

Thx again. Most of the responses were about what I thought it would take to get me to let go of it.

Now to go check on that pin I was considering.....

Tom

add $250 - $350 for the multikit.. So $900-$1100+ depending on how nice the cab is..

Market must be better in CA... A regular Tempest goes for $450-$500 max here, and they takes a few weeks or even months to sell.. having a multi kit in it would not raise the price that much here.. If I was selling this machine, I would remove the multikit and sell it seperate...

Installing Multi kits, HS kits ect is great, but there it makes it harder to get your investment out of the machine with them installed..

The market there is similar to here. I just got a pretty minty working one for $450. Guy had a problem selling it at that price, too.

$900-1100 with the kit installed is not unrealistic... but you may be sitting on it a while waiting for the right buyer to come along to get even the low end of that.

People have them listed on CL for $1k here and no sale..

I listed a tempest cocktail for $675 and I got several calls on it (might be sold).

I think a nice tempest upright is worth $750. I will put that to the test in a week or so..

I find it hard to imagine a tempest worth less than $500. The monitor sells for $300+ on ebay and the board is worth $200+. Hell, not working tempest pcbs are selling $75-$150 on ebay! If the kits owrth $300+ thats $800+ right there..

The Cocktails are pretty cool, I would prob pay $675 for a nice one. and IMO they are worth about the same as a upright.. The last Tempest was listed on CL here working for $450.. It sat for 3 weeks, before I bought it for $400.. The one I got before that I picked up working in Seattle for $300.. had about $100 in fuel to get it.. I actually like the Cabaret Tempest the most...

I know I got good deals on those machines and thay are worth more that that, but if I listed a upright Tempest for $750 here would be a hard sell... $750 is a 2006 price here..

No doubt a parted Tempest would bring more money, as you mentioned monitor and board prices, but this is the case with many machines.. Space Duel is one of those.. They are Selling for between $350-$450 in Seattle.. Whole machine for what the monitor is worth..

I think the market is different in CA..

Its really odd that games don't sell for that much up north.. I took a hertz truck full classics back on 4/6/94 to people up in washington(day after curt cobain died). I think it was 14 games. I remember taking tempest ur, tempest cocktail, space duel to a guy living in a frat house, defender, venture, and a bunch of other classics. I think most were microsoft employees and their friends.. They could not find anything up there to buy up there back then..

yeah, space duel is a great game thats just not worth more than parts value(unless its super clean).. I have crushed 2 space duels and gave away a really nice space duel cabinet to tom to replace his water damaged cabinet.. Last space duel I sold, someone drove up from LA to get.. So I think it might be a little harder to find xy games in LA..
