Trying to see what is more cost effective- repairing mine or just buying one...

Thanks!

You will find that repair is the better option...there are few working boards for sale, and the few that I have seen were obscene in price.

A complete working set usually sell between $150-$200.

Really? I woulda bought a complete working one at that...I saw 4 for sale.

$400.00 was the cheapest.

RLEVIN has one for sale and is asking $599.99.

I didn't look terrible long, or hard as I had two that I could get fixed but...didn't see any that cheap or i woulda jumped, and QUICK. Then again you do live in Michigan and it seems to rain Tempests across the Lake.

$400-$600 for a Tempest boardset!!!!!!! Holy shit, I'll sell ya a set for the bargain price of $300! :D

Thanks everyone for the advice and the reference for repair. I sent an email to Alex Yeckley at Elektron Forge already. I've dealt with him years and years ago and he was top notch. If he's currently too busy I will contact Talon2000.

Thanks again!

You can find working boards on the cheap on occasion. But they most likely have not had any work done to them, so their failure rate will be higher.

Tempest is just one of those games that's hard on components.
