I have no plans on buying one of these, but I see them on CL all the time. What are those Midway Arcade Machines that Target was selling awhile back going for? I can't remember what Target sold them for new, but I see on CL people saying that they bought theirs for $1000, and for some reason I dont remember them having that high of a price tag.

Sams Club here where I live sell them for 499..........

they sold originally in the $500-$600 range.

personally, i probably wouldn't waste the gas to go get one for free, much less pay anything for one. they're poorly made, don't play well, have a tiny screen and the controls are terrible for many of the games. virtually none of it is transferable to a real arcade game.

going rate in my area is around $125-$250. I see people list it for $500 alot. I find that number to be a joke. I'd personally buy one for $100, then gut it and hotwire it.

I wouldn't buy one myself. I've seen pictures of them and how small the screen is. Plus they look so cheaply built, They don't look like they are worth $200. Just always got a laugh when I would see them on CL and want $500 for them saying they paid $1000.

Yupper. Although if it were done right with the hotwiring, you could run a nice multi in a dynamo cab. A guy here ran one in a mini asteroids cab. Pretty sweet idea if you land one for cheap enough.

Well, everyone has pretty much posted their opinions, but I might as well jump in. Personally, I think the cabinets were a good idea but were not executed properly.

I don't think I would pay more than $50 for one, honestly.

I actually went to look at one because the jhole didn't post a picture. I can see why. He had never finished assembling it. One of the joysicks was bent and the other didn't work in the up direction. And he had the balls to say when it was assembled, it was just as good as an arcade game. The particle board it was made out of would not have lasted 10 minutes in an arcade. I told him so. He got all bent and asked what made me such an expert, so I told him I worked at Williams when they were making the real cabinets and this was nothing like a real cabinet and left. About 2 weeks later he emailed me saying he had dropped his price to $250. I told him he had an extra zero on the end of his price. I never heard from him again. :D

Well, ever Ad I've seen for one of these is about the same. Claiming they paid $500+ for it but are willing to sell it for $250. Thats why I was asking what they originally went for. I knew they weren't much since I remember Target having an Ad for them awhile back. Never seen one in person, but even from the pictures you can tell the monitors are just too damn small and the whole machine looks cheap.

I went to see them myself, even after reading about them from other collectors, when they first came out. I was truly amazed at how cheaply made they were. My hope was the boards and game selection were true to form, so I could pick-up one cheap and just keep the board. Alas, that wasn't so. They should have taken a small hint from the Taito multi games, since those play pretty well. Those cabinets were a little better, but still junk. I picked-up one at auction for cheap and moved it around the garage only to keep a crack, pop! The internal "structure" holding the monitor up broke and snapped the monitor neck. To quote Luke Skywalker, "What a piece of junk."
