local guy has a dedicated targ, working condition. looks to be complete and in good shape.
asking price $50.00 is this worth my time?

tough call. Are you a big exidy fan? I am and yet I'm still on the fence as to weather or not I can make room to add a targ to the line up. Personally I just think it's ok. At $50 I might be tempted though. Although I'm not sure they have great resale value.

thats where im at.im more into pins, but i do like the older vids from my youth. i think i will pass on this one and wait for a better title to come along.

R U kidding. No brainer $50 pickup if you ask me.

I don't know. I say it depends on if you like the game or not. It doesn't have a high resale value and it really comes down to the person that might buy it but I know some folks would buy it because it's cheap and then when they get bored and can't sell it they might part it. Personally I'd rather it go to someone who really wants to keep it whole. Not too desirable but not a ton of these out there either.

i played it at the Seattle show last year and ended up really enjoying it. like several other Exidy titles the graphics are pretty bad (even for when they were produced,) but the game play is good.

what the heck. if you are an arcade collector asking for a "price check" on a working game for $50 is pretty much like asking for a price check on a free game. if you like it go get it.

I guess you are trying to figure out if it's worth $500 so you can flip it? In that case apparently the answer is "no" so don't bother.

sorry for the tone, I just get sick of all these "price check" threads, wish we had a different section for them

It is in Reno. I picked it up in Dayton last night. I originally responded to the add thinking that I may be able to trade it to an exidy fan for something else. I wasn't able to pick it up until late last night, so I had the whole day to try it out in MAME. Turns out it is actually kinda fun. More fun to me than Space Invaders was when I owned it for sure. I imagine I will still want to trade it one of these days, but it should be fun to play for a while. The controls are wickedly slow, so you really have to plan your movements in advance. I think that is what makes it a fun challenge.

I figured if I didn't buy it, it would be parted by whoever else did when they figured out how little it is worth. $50 is definitely in the impulse buy range, and I will play it enough to feel like it was worth the price. The last time I drove out that way, I brought home a $50 Millipede, so this isn't as good, but it was still a fun pickup.

Not trying to be rude , but don't read them if u don't like them as they are very helpfull to some of us peace ,Ron

glad someone got it.i did not want to see it parted out either. or butchered into some Frankenstein multi cab. have fun with it.

I played it at the Seattle show as well and I really liked it too. The controls aren't really slow, you just seem to accelerate more the longer you hold the joystick in one direction and then you can scrub off speed by pulling the joystick in the other direction. If you have built up a ton of speed then it will take some time to slow down and reverse/turn.

I almost jumped on it. No room, no time. Congrats on the score Paul!

the best part came this week. He called me back and offered a pretty beat up but working Pacman cocktail for $50. I drove out there and picked it up last night. Kinda looking forward to getting it cleaned up. Once I get a 4 in 1 installed on it, it should make a nice little addition to the garage.

Alright, jealous! :)

You can pick up a Spectar boardset and make it a MULTIGAME!

I picked up a Spectar one time at an auction for $5 and had lots of fun with it for a couple of years. It took forever to sell it at $50 - $75 dollars. Some dude finally drove down a few hundred miles from Pennsylvania, slapped it into his van, and got right back on the road to drive home.

This dude was so happy- I'll never forget him even though he only stayed 10 minutes.
This picture helps...
