My wife has expressed an interest in me obtaining a Simpsons pinball machine (1990 Data East, http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=2158). Since I don't have any pinball machines, I'm not sure how to price out one of these and what they're typically going for in good working condition.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Greg

The original Simpson's pin was a dog. Simpson's Pinball Party released by Stern is a fantastic pinball machine to own!

+1. Have your wife check out the Stern version. It's by far the better of the two (more expensive also)

I sold my Simpson's Pinball Party recently for $3500. I believe I paid about $2100 at auction for it.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I might concentrate on finding one of the Stern Pinball Party versions, even though it'd be more.

Much appreciated.

And yes, I do see irony in the fact that my avatar is Homer Simpson drooling... :)

Pinball Party is one of the best pins ever made, so expect to pay a fortune for it.

I had one of the Data East ones, I enjoyed it. I'm not a big pin head though so I enjoy most pins. Since you don't have any either, you'd probably like that one too. It's based on the first season artwork, and has that cool early 90's vibe to it. Lots of call-outs from the characters in the game, and the artwork all over the playfield and cabinet has characters everywhere.

wow the Simpsons Pinball machine by Data East really gets no love .. I really think its becouse it was made my DATA EAST.. I love the pin but then again i'm a simpsons collector/ love the simpsons

I have played the Simpsons Party and i plain don'nt understand what is going on with it 90 percent of the time and i loose the ball game over.

I say 1500 will get you a really nice DATA EAST Simpsons

-1. I absolutely disagree.

I've owned a DE Simpsons now for over 10 years. I still love the machine and it is VERY fun to play. In the 10 years, I have still yet to get bored with it! I've played a few Pinball Party's and none of them did a thing for me. Personally, I didn't like them at all and feel that the DE version is far superior. TSPP just seemed quite lame to me.

In the end, don't go solely by what people say in here. Find the machines and play them first before buying them. Why sink $3500 on a TSPP because a few people say it is awesome, just to get it home and find out that you don't like it? It's all in the person's own, personal taste.

Bill

Great! I had planned on looking at one of each if possible.

Thanks again!
